Being different is stronger than just being strong

현존하는 CAR DVR들은 대체로 카메라 성능을 돋보이게 하는 것에 초점을 맞추어 화려한 테크닉과 여러 소재의 결합으로 디자인되는 것이 고급스러움을 표현하는 방법이었다. 반면, 본 프로젝트는 QHD+QHD의 최고가 이면서 가장 하이테크한 제품을 기획하는 것이었는데, 기존 제품과 확실히 차별화 되는 새로운 관점의 접근이 필요하였다. 물리적인 테크닉이 아닌 감성적인 솔루션으로, 살면서 몇 번 만날 수 없는 특별한 순간인 '일식'의 감성을 제품의 아이덴티티에 녹여 냈다. 가장 단순한 사각 바디에 보름달을 연상시키는 카메라 데코를 넣고 그 틈에서 LED 라이팅으로 일식 현상을 표현하였다. 그 외, 인쇄 부분, 스피커홀등을 생략하고 빈 공간을 많이 만듦으로써 좀더 심플한 조형을 의도하였다. 역설적이게도 가장 하이테크한 제품과 가장 감성적인 제품의 극한의 조화로 명품을 지향하는 아름다운 제품이다.

Previous CAR DVR devices generally tried to look classy by designing with fancy techniques and a combination of different materials, focusing on highlighting the performance of a camera. On the other hand, this project was to design the high-end. So we needed a new perspective approach that can make a clear difference within other products. There’s a camera that brings up the image of a full moon in the simple square body, and LED light coming out from the gap shows the image of “Eclipse”. And tried to make it look simpler by making more space on the body. We tried to make the sensibility of “Eclipse”, which is one of the most special moments in our lives, melt into the identity of the product. Through the emotional solution, not a physical technique.
