Street lightpoles usually assume several functions, like brightening dark areas, having flags hung upon, or having roadsigns installed onto, which also can be a hassle to drivers sometimes. Starting from this observation, we decided to go for a design as functional and simple as possible. By day, we thought of it as a symbolic street furniture whose role would be to look like trees planted on the side of the road. Using a single extruded aluminum module, we conceived it with two slots on top to have road lights installed either only in the front or in the front and back at the same time. In the first case, the back houses a smaller ambient light module, recalling commercial airplanes signal lights. It not only helps drivers at night but also creates a nice visual landscape.
